Make your next
card count.
- Flip. Split a shuffled 52-card deck. Both players flip. Aces are high; suits don't matter.
- Choose. The player with the lower card can concede the whole pot or challenge by flipping the next card from their deck.
- Challenge. A higher card takes the lead and passes the decision. A lower card immediately loses the pot. A tie starts war.
- War. Each player puts three down, then one up. Tied? Repeat. Otherwise the player with the lower card chooses whether to challenge or concede again.
- Collect. Won cards go to the bottom of your deck. The next battle starts automatically after the result. Take all 52 to win.
For war, both play as many cards as the shorter stack allows (up to four), with the last card face up. If only one can continue, they take the pot; if neither can, it's a draw. An empty stack during a pot doesn't automatically lose: you can still win it or concede.
